  • Church Hill C of E Junior School Celebrates Indian Culture Day with Vibrant Festivities

    Published 31/10/24

Church Hill C of E Junior School recently embraced the colours, sounds, and tastes of India with a vibrant Indian Culture Day celebration. Pupils arrived dressed in their special clothes including traditional Indian attire, filling the school with a lively display of saris, kurtas and lehengas. The festivities included Bollywood dancing sessions that got everyone moving to the rhythms of Indian cinema, and a variety of classes explored the art of mehndi, creating intricate henna designs on their hands. Indian music filled the school, setting a joyful tone for the day’s activities.

Many classes also had the chance to get hands-on with Indian cuisine, making fresh chapatis under the guidance of helpful parent volunteers, who contributed to the day’s success. Other pupils worked on rangoli-style art, crafting beautiful, symmetrical designs inspired by traditional Indian patterns. The school extends its heartfelt thanks to all the parent helpers who participated, bringing a rich cultural experience to life and making the day memorable for everyone involved.
